Sound agriculture practice is actually based on the information concerning integrated assessment indicators of the resource balance. The paper describes the current state and development prospects of private farms in the Bryansk region. The authors analyze the existing specialization of farms depending on their size and suppose the most promising specialization to be dairy farming.
