The functional link between demand and prices allows to jointly optimize prices and the sales scope - the author's assertion is illustrated by mathematical arguments, which help introduce certain specifications into economic theory. It is argued that the conclusions made have mainly theoretical value because they formalize only the most general mechanisms of price and sales volume optimization and identify the principal dependencies between variables. In order to apply the models in practice, it is expedient to insert them into typical program complexes.
