The modern situation signifies that the problem of radical increase in growth rates today is vitally important for the Russian economy. There is no way of solving the problem by means of the raw materials base or increase in duration of working hours. The progressive word experience shows that transition from the economy based on manual labor to capital-intensive and science-intensive mode of production (provided hired labor) is usually accompanied by fair drop in growth rate of economy. As the scope of economic control is cut down the wage earner accordingly seeks to reduce the labor intensity. The only way out for Russia is to revive the traditions of production cooperation within up-to-date organization and legal forms. Cooperatives being co-owners of production hold an interest in maximizing the added value cost which they in corpore receive as their earned individual income.
