Haus /das Zuhausе/.

Phenomenon of polysemy was investigated from the cognitive-psycholinguistic position. In the experiments the subjects reproduced the meanings of a polysemic word, as many as they could. The succession of the meanings reproduced, the frequency of their occurrence and their co-ordination were registered. It’s shown that the semantic components (meanings) are functioning accordingly to their capability of activating and resistance to influence. The functional organization of polysemic structure is characterized: the existence of central and peripheral components, “kernel idea”. The storing and activating of semantic elements in the verbal human system is described.

Agreement/disagreement is viewed as a specific type of speech act. It is claimed that the speech act of agreement/disagreement appears as a reaction to representative, directive, commissive and expressive speech acts in different types of episodes of communication. An attempt to model episodes of communication according to initial speech acts and agreement/disagreement as a reaction for each case is made.

Associative reactions obtained in the experiments with a single or multiple response can be analyzed not only as lexical units, but also as sentences / utterances that they form their own or together with the word-stimulus, depending on what kind of object (action, etc.) is in the focus of attention of the respondent at the time of generation of the reaction.

The authors consider oral speech as a functional system realizable in a psychosensomotor speech stereotype which is forming as a result of integration, coordination and regulation of its subsystems. This study examined speech and nonspeech rhythms in ontogenesis and speech dysontogenesis. In norm the accurate dynamics of nonspeech and speech rhythms maturing is revealed. The low level of rhythmical motor response development, the delay of the rhythmical speech organization maturing are found out in children with speech & language pathology, its specific disorders are shown at different forms of speech & language pathology. The psychological and pedagogical model of rhythm development in children with speech & language disorders is scientifically substantiated and presented.

The article is focused on the problem of sound semantics. It deals predominantly with the psycho-physiological mechanism by which sound can have meaning by itself, before and beyond its association with object, either its source or denotation. The data of empirical study of sounds corporal localization demonstrate that the perception of a sound is accompanied by an assessment of the body’s ability to generate it. Research program of acoustic semantics is proposed.

The present paper deals with the problem of swearing in the communicative behavior of educated English speakers taking into account its pragmatic functions and acceptability. It focuses primarily on expressing positive emotions and attitudes in a friendly discourse. Since the English language exists in variations, we take that as English, which unites these variations and exists ( functions) as a part of the so- called Anglo-culture [Wierzbicka 2006]. In the present article we are using the term Anglo-Saxon culture.

In the present study subjects had to remember items in different conditions: those items were previously marked by either one word or by two words. It turned out that the presence of two different words made subjects less sensitive to individual distinctions between items and consequently resulted in poorer memory on such individual examples. The effect in the one word condition was the opposite. That effect – the intention of the word meaning – points to spontaneous activation of the categorization process in the mere presence of the word and for the first time it was found on artificial material.

The article is an effort to consider the process of the narrative development in ontogenesis and defining some particular traces of orale narration in children at 3 to 7 years of age. The empiric materials were received in the experiment where we used a small book without text [Mayer 1969]. The analysis of the oral narratives of children enabled us to reveal various types of oral narrative in the language of children, as well as various cognitive-discourse strategies functioning in the course of narration of preschool-age children.
