THE SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF A POPULATION OF HOODED CROWS (CORVUS CORNIX) ON THE LENIN HILLS IN MOSCOW

Grabovsky V.I.

The dynamics of social structure of a population of hooded crows on the Lenin Hills in Moscow from 1976 till 1980 is described. The whole year round groups of crows occu-red with different degree of isolation, life span and functions. During the period of nesting the single and social ways of life were combined. A conclusion is drawn that it is impossible in principle to distinguish the social and individualistic behaviour within the behaviour of an individual.
