Bezoar goat Capra aegagrus Erxleben (Artiodactyla) population space or-ganization principles in Eastern Caucasus conditions

Peculiarities of bezoar goat population seasonal space structure in one of the presently pre-served breeding grounds in Grand Caucasus (Daghestan, upper reaches of the Sulak river) have been analyzed. It has shown that there are significant differences in distribution of females and males on the territory depending on steepness protection conditions and slope exposition, height above the sea level and the vegetation character. It is shown that strong difference of the sex and age groups of bezoar goats by a series of ecology and physiology parameters determine their different requirements in protection and fodder conditions of the environment and, corres-pondingly, and especially their space distribution which is seen in the potential tendency in the use of the most optimal habitation areas up to their needs and possibility.
