MORPHOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT OF MNEMIOPSIS MCCRADYI (CTENOPHORA, LOBATA) IN THE BLACK SEA

Recently settled in the Black Sea Ctenophorae, presumably taken in with the ballasting water, has been redefined as Mnemiopsis mccradyi Mayer, 1900. The equations are given which relate the dimensions of the main body parts with the wet weight and length. In summer 1988 the species dominated by its biomass in the plankton of the desalted regions of the Black Sea. The features are indicated distinguishing it from similar species.
